Subsidy Programs
Our mission is to promote and nurture sports for youths and we have directed our activities in three main categories.
INTRODUCTORY BASEBALL TRAINING SCHEME
The five year scheme was launched in October 2013 with the aim of introducing baseball to as many primary school students as possible and providing special provisions to students with lesser resources.
The scheme spearheaded simultaneously in seven schools with Sports for Youth Foundation (“The Foundation”) financing all equipment and gears. On top, each school was given HK$20,000 annually to subsidize the employment of extra coaches. Along the process, students with potential and those who are interested in continuing may enroll into the Little Leagues. The scheme completed in 2019 with the seven beneficiary schools committed to continuing with the program. |

SOFTBALL TRAINING SCHEME FOR GIRLS
Since November 2017, Sports for Youth Foundation (“The Foundation”) was instrumental in pushing forward an unprecedented all girls’ softball training scheme simultaneously in five primary schools. The Foundation again subsidized the equipment and gears as well as a HK$20,000 annual subsidy to each school for hiring extra coaches. With the advice and guidance of the legendary Hong Kong Father of Baseball Mr. Lo Kwong-Fai, the most promising 20 players amongst the five schools were selected into the The Foundation sponsored team “G-Falcon” which received full funding to represent Hong Kong in the 2019 Little League Asia Pacific U12 Girls’ Softball Tournament held in Jakarta, Indonesia. To bring out the players’ full potential, they were put through vigorous training and the Foundation also enlisted two top trainers from Taiwan, Mr. Chen Ju-Chun and Ms. Sun Xiuping for one week intensive training. Even though G-Falcon did not win, the amazing experience of that week remain an unforgettable memory for these girls and fuel their on-going passion for the sport in many years to come. |

SPONSORSHIPS IN VARIOUS YOUTH SPORTING EVENTS
The Foundation endeavours to encourage our city’s youngsters to engage in sports. We like to see our youths be inspired to take up activities not readily available to them which they would find challenging. For those who are in financial needs, the Foundation is ready to support them so they would have an equal chance as their fellow youths.
